Why Barkminster Works in Real Homes
Most dog beds slide around the floor, crush down in a few months, and end up looking tired. Barkminster frames are built to solve that problem and to blend in with the rest of your furniture.
- Real wood frames – no particleboard, no flat-pack hardware. Each frame is cut, sanded, and finished in a small home workshop in North Port, Florida.
- Furniture-grade finishes – Jet Black, Sedona Red, and Starry Night Blue are layered by hand so the grain still shows through.
- Replaceable cushions – the frame stays; the cushion can be swapped as needed so the bed always feels fresh.
- Small-batch builds – frames are produced in limited runs. If a finish sells out, it may not be available again right away.
- Direct-from-maker support – questions, custom sizing, or special requests? You talk to the person who actually builds the bed.
About the Maker
Every Barkminster frame is built by hand in a home shop, one project at a time. No assembly line, no anonymous factory. Boards are selected, cut, joined, and finished with the same care you’d put into a piece of furniture for your own family.
That means every bed has small variations in grain and tone — the kind of details you only get from real wood and real hands. Customers come back because the frames feel solid under their dogs, look good in their homes, and keep doing their job year after year.
